The Society Dell' Arte presents it's Fifth Annual Family Friendly Mardi Gras Celebration

My Mask, My Mardi Gras.

Parade goers can leave their jackets and raincoats at home and enjoy a weatherproof Mardi Gras procession through the galleries at the Mobile Museum of Art. The annual Family-Friendly Mardi Gras being held Saturday, February 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. includes a foot-parade complete with marching band through the museum galleries and an array of Mardi Gras related programs and art activities for the whole family. Admission to the event is free; however guests are encouraged to dress up for a chance to win the costume contest.

The Family-Friendly Mardi Gras event begins with a people-powered procession through the museum galleries that includes music from the historic Excelsior Brass Band. Parade goers will be showered with various throws from costumed revelers in the Grand Lakefront Lobby. After the procession, enjoy the costume contest!

Guests can enjoy a variety of art activities for the whole family such as creating mini-floats, mask decorating or crafting a "throw me somethin' Mister" sign.
