MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Mardi Gras: That annual party that suddenly appears out of nowhere and turns Mobile into a fantasy world of revelry and royalty! Well, Mobile, it doesn’t just suddenly appear “out of nowhere.” It happened because of people like veteran float designer Edward Ladd. He is one of the thousands of people behind the art and design of Mardi Gras.
“They expect it,” he said, “and even the societies don’t appreciate all the time and effort and labor and thought that goes into these things.”
