CALL TO ARTISTS
THE MOBILE MUSEUM OF ART
Is in the midst of organizing an exciting new exhibition: The Art & Design of Mardi Gras
In celebration of our 50th anniversary, the Mobile Museum of Art has partnered with the Mobile Carnival Museum and the History Museum of Mobile on a major exhibition of the creative enterprise that comprises our city’s annual spectacle of myth and revelry. The Art & Design of Mardi Gras will open in early November 2014 and remain on view through the Spring of 2015.
We are inviting artists to participate in the exhibition by submitting works that reflect their vision of Mardi Gras. Due to space limitations, we will select only a limited number of contemporary works from local and regional artists for inclusion in the exhibition.
This opportunity is open to all visual artists (from Atlanta to New Orleans).
To Submit Your Work:
We are taking email submissions only. Submissions should be limited to no more than three images. Include your name, medium, size of work, and contact information and send it to stan.hackney@cityofmobile.org prior to July 3, 2014 at midnight. A committee of museum staff from the three participating museums will select work to be shown. If selected, Stan Hackney or Elizabet Elliott will contact you directly.
PLEASE DO NOT bring items to or call the museum. Artworks cannot be accepted until final selection.
