Try something that you have always wanted to do by learning to throw clay on the pottery wheel! This six-week class is for brand new students with no previous experience. Students will learn the basics of how to center, throw, and glaze clay, resulting in unique functional pieces such as bowls, cups, and vases. Friends and family will be impressed with your new skills!

• Temperatures will be checked upon entry with a no-contact infrared thermometer
• Visitors are required to wear a mask.
• Utilize the hand sanitizer provided throughout the museum.
• Maintain a 6 to 10 ft distance from other visitors.
All classes are subject to cancellation or rescheduling following CDC guidelines.

Handbuilding in Clay with Denise Ralston

Experience the joy of creating with clay in this handbuilding class for beginner to advanced students. Instructor Denise Ralston will teach the basic techniques of pinching, coiling, and slab building as well as surface decoration and glazing. Bring your creativity and see what you can do!

Open Clay Studio

Open Clay Studio is available for Mobile Museum of Art members only.

$25 per month + $15 per session attended

Enjoy extra time to work on your own projects during this uninstructed Open Studio time. Clay, glazes, and pottery wheels will be available.

Reservations must be made 24 HOURS in advance to reserve a spot. Call or email Curator of Art Education, Angie King at 251.208.5205 or at **Students MUST have prior experience with clay and be able to work unassisted.**
