Have you wondered what makes a glaze look the way it does or wanted to make your own glaze but don’t know where to start? This class is for you! In this course, we will learn what a ceramic glaze is, what its components are, and how they are combined to create a glaze. We will have several opportunities to test each glaze component and discover its unique properties and use that knowledge to create a glaze tailored specifically for your pieces. Supplies included.

Try something that you have always wanted to do by learning to throw clay on the pottery wheel! This six-week class is for brand-new students with no previous experience. Students will learn the basics of how to center, throw, and glaze clay, resulting in unique functional pieces such as bowls, cups, and vases. Friends and family will be impressed with your new skills!

Open Clay Studio

Open Clay Studio is available for Mobile Museum of Art members only.

$25 per month + $15 per session attended

Enjoy extra time to work on your own projects during this uninstructed Open Studio time. Clay, glazes, and pottery wheels will be available.
