A Painter’s Hand: The Monotypes of Adolph Gottlieb explores the last body of work completed by one of the most important American artists of the 20th century. Adolph Gottlieb is known for being a member of the first generation of Abstract Expressionists and working with various media such as sculpture, tapestry, stained glass, and prints. The exhibition features Gottlieb’s monotype prints that he began in 1973 during the last months of his life.

In this Art Talk, Matthew Hopson-Walker will lead a tour and conduct a live demo of monotype printing in the exhibition. Hopson-Walker is an instructor at the University of South Alabama where he teaches printmaking.
