The debris of life-stuff: gloves, plastic bags, discarded bike tubes, cigarette butts, and now Mardi Gras beads is the stuff Dixon Stetler’s art is made of. Stetler uses the materials of everyday life to transform our world. If we are the sum of what we consume, Stetler takes the output to underline a shared experience of the world. A master weaver, she is known for large-scale collaborations utilizing community effort to transform trash to treasure.
