Muslim Albanians who Rescued Jews During the Holocaust
OPENING RECEPTION & FILM SCREENING

Join us for the opening of BESA: A Code of Honor, an exhibition of portraits and texts about the ‘Righteous Among the Nations’ – Muslim families in Albania who risked their lives saving Jews during the Holocaust.

Dr. Marlene W. Yahalom, Director of Education for the American Society for Yad Vashem, will be introduced by Mobile County Commissioner Connie Hudson at 5 p.m., followed by a screening of Besa, The Promise at 5:30 p.m. After the film, Dr. Yahalom will provide a short tour and informal discussion of the exhibition.

This program is part of the 2020 Mobile Jewish Film Festival and is free to the public. Reservations required. The exhibition is organized by the American Society for Yad Vashem and will be on view through May 14, 2020.
