The Mobile Museum of Art wants to celebrate art of all kinds in the local Mobile community and has been doing just that by incorporating a music series into their permanent and traveling art exhibitions. Eric Erdman will contribute to the series Dec. 18.
For approximately the last six months, the museum has been hosting Live @ the Museum every third Thursday. L@TM is a unique opportunity to see the museum in the evening and experience a local or regional musician in a more intimate setting. The series was one of the first projects started by Elizabet Elliott, curator of programs, when she came to work at the museum.
“I wanted the MMofA program schedule to reflect the ways the arts manifest in our everyday life–to champion an art that our community can relate to and the unique culture of storytellers we have in the Deep South,” Elliott said. “”As an art museum we can play a big role in defining a local identity – how well we do that is reflected in the relevancy of our programs. We are uniquely positioned to support and expand the creative efforts that exist here.” See full article on AL.com>>
