Hello, everyone! I am more than excited and honored to be the latest Public Relations intern at the Mobile Museum of Art. I will do my best to condense the entirety of my person in the following questionnaire.
Hometown: Mobile, Alabama (born and raised!).
University Life: I am a junior Public Relations student at the University of Southern Mississippi (SMTTT!!). My minor is Graphic Design, and I’m hoping to tack on a second minor in Spanish. Also, I am a proud member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Personality: INFJ. I consider myself a combination of Chris Treager from Parks & Recreation and Amy Santiago of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame.
Cats or Dogs: Cats. Irrelevant, but I adore sharks.
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff pride!
Strengths: Oversharing and biting off more than I can chew. In all seriousness, I love to create – whether it’s writing, drawing, or making collages. I also never find myself at a loss for words.
Weaknesses: Self-doubt and self-deprecating humor. Overusing exclamation points. Never leaving my 2007 emo music phase. Most of all, however, is the beast that is online shopping.
Favorite Piece of Art: For the longest time, it was Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. But Vermeer’s Girl With a Pearl Earring in all its simple elegance and expression stole my heart!
Favorite Art Movement: Impressionism!!! It’s gorgeous and inspired much of my own art style.
Internship Purpose: By the end of the term, I hope to have reached a better understanding of the Public Relations field and all that it entails. I also aim to improve my skills in Adobe programs such as Photoshop and InDesign. Above all else, however, I want to contribute to the museum in as many ways as possible and help ensure its success. As an artist myself, I understand how important it is to foster creativity, and the museum is the perfect environment for that.
