People of all ages, races, religions and socio-economic backgrounds come together every year for Mobile’s Mardi Gras celebration. In that same spirit of inclusiveness and cooperation, Mobile’s three largest museums – the Mobile Carnival Museum, the History Museum of Mobile and the Mobile Museum of Art – have come together to present “The Art and Design of Mardi Gras.”
The exhibition, which marks the art museum’s 50th anniversary, kicks off with a Golden Gala Birthday Bash fundraiser Thursday (Nov. 6) evening, then opens to the public this weekend (Nov. 8-9) with a free Family Festival on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibition will continue through May 3.
