The Mobile Museum of Art is hiring a full-time Coordinator of Art Education. Applicants should have background knowledge of art materials, techniques, and art history, and the ability to teach art classes in at least one 2-D art medium (painting, drawing, printmaking, or photography). Working with the Curator of Art Education, this position is responsible for organizing and facilitating arts and humanities workshops, seminars, and conducting educational programs. This position will maintain creative partnerships with other cultural organizations, museums, schools, and parents to improve and support the department’s relations in the community. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and conduct art museum tours and assist in training volunteers or interns. Ability to perform other work-related tasks as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Attainment of a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in education, art, or related field, and a minimum of one year of responsible experience teaching art education and/or 2-D studio art (drawing, painting, printmaking) in an art museum setting, including experience working with museum collections; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
