The Mobile Museum of Art Foundation is a nonprofit entity which was established by the Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) Board of Directors. Its purpose is to help ensure the perpetuity of the Museum’s mission to provide a place where people enrich their lives through interaction with the visual arts in thought-provoking and creative ways that nourish and delight the mind and spirit. For the fundamental purpose of education, the Museum collects, conserves, exhibits, interprets, and researches art. It provides education and enrichment opportunities for all ages through art, classes, workshops, and lectures. Since its founding in 1964, the Museum has become a significant cultural landmark in Mobile.
SUPPORT THE MMofA FOUNDATION
The purpose of the MMofA Foundation is to provide continuing additional support of the Museum’s programs, art conservation, and future art acquisitions.
The MMofA Foundation seeks to enlarge its endowment fund through gifts from the Museum’s supporters through planned giving. Planned giving encompasses a variety of ways that gifts can be made to the MMofA Foundation from accumulated resources. It usually involves financial or estate planning; however, it is not reserved for the wealthy. Planned giving is a means by which anyone concerned with the wise use of his or her personal resources makes a considered choice about their ultimate disposition.
In general, planned gifts are made through:
- Lifetime Trusts and Gift Annuities
- Will Appointment or Estate Bequest
- Residuary Bequest
- IRA or Other Retirement Accounts
