The Works Progress Administration (WPA) was created as part of the flurry of legislation known as the New Deal and sought to address the crushing poverty of the Great Depression by employing people on a variety of public projects.

    Expanding on the success of our recent Spotlight installation, this new exhibition presents some of her early realist watercolor and mixed media compositions, four large Abstract Expressionist paintings, and an oil on masonite inspired by a trip to Mexico, all on loan from the Paul Bongé Collection.
