A Mobile community center is sporting a new look and an renewed propose.  Folks in the Maysville community were invited to an Open House this weekend at the Harmon Thomas Recreation Center to see it now has something for everyone.

Youth band members and Azalea Trail Maids were on hand for the Open House at the Harmon Thomas Rec Center Saturday.
Activities Coordinator Katrina Frazier said the community center is showing off a brand new look, but that’s not all.

“It was some what institutionalized with the drab colors.  So by having them come in  and just splash the walls with colors, and bring in excellent programs such has pottery, painting, cat which you saw earlier briefly it’s going to be an infusion,” Frazier said.

Frazier said the project is part of Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s One Mobile vision, and it’s the result of the combined efforts of the city, some local college students,  and the Mobile Museum of Art.
