How do I arrange a group visit?

Can I host an event at the museum?
We apologize that due to labor shortages, the Mobile Museum of Art has temporarily suspended facility rental bookings. Please continue to check our website for any updates.
Is there a store or dining at the museum?
The Art Store is open during our regular Museum hours, and there is a selection of snacks and coffee available, but we do not have full-service dining at the museum. Click here to visit The Art Store page, and to see nearby restaurants go to our General Information page.
Are there any days the museum is free admission?
The Museum is free EVERY THURSDAY for Mobile County residents and free every day for members (with the exception of select special exhibitions).
What do I do with my coat or large bag?
Large coats and bags are subject to inspection by museum staff, but MMofA has lockers available to store your belongings.
Appraisals and Authentications
Can I bring work to the museum for someone to tell me if it is valuable?The Mobile Museum of Art cannot appraise or authenticate art, antiques, or artifacts. Please contact the following institutions to get in contact with an appraiser:

Condition Examinations and Conservation Treatment
Can you tell me the condition of an artwork or help conserve a piece in my personal collection?The Mobile Museum of Art does not conserve art, antiques, or artifacts. Please contact the following institution to get in contact with a conservator:

Donations
How do I give work to the Museum's collection?A submission process is required for all art donations, which entails review by a Collections Committee. MMofA is not allowed to accept artwork dropped off or left at the museum for donation. Unsolicited works without a receipt will be destroyed if left. I am an artist and would like to exhibit my art in the Museum. What should I do?
Our exhibition schedule is planned approximately two to three years in advance and is carefully balanced to present our viewers with a varied artistic program. Therefore, we are rarely able to accommodate unsolicited submissions for exhibitions. To see opportunities for artists and art educators, please click here.
How does an individual or a company support the museum?
The best way for an individual to support the museum is through membership or end-of-year donations. Click here to fill out your donation form and/or become a member.
Companies interested in supporting the Museum can do so through a sponsorship or corporate membership.

Can I bring guests with my membership?
An Individual membership admits one adult. If you would like to bring a guest, you must purchase a Family or Friend Membership. For more information about different membership levels, click here>>
Is my membership tax-deductible?
MMofA memberships and donations are tax-deductible within the limits allowed by law, and MMofA will not transfer any goods or services in exchange for membership.
Online donations and contributions to the Mobile Museum of Art will have a transaction fee charged by the payment service company. Your tax-deductible amount will be slightly less than the total amount of your membership. The Museum will send you a letter stating the actual tax-deductible amount.

What do you offer for children throughout the year?

Do members get a discount on classes?
Yes, most classes have a discounted member price. Please see your registration form for the member price.
