Volunteer at MMoA

Mobile Museum of Art provides dozens of programs for the public and participates in numerous community activities that would not be possible without volunteers. Through hands-on service, volunteers play many roles that make it possible for the Museum to further its mission while developing their personal interest in the arts. Museum programs such as school and walk-in tours as well as outreach events are some of the most important aspects of the museum that are significantly enhanced by the generous dedication of time and service from our valued volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play a vital role at Mobile Museum of Art, supporting programs, events, and educational activities for all ages. Whether assisting with children’s art classes, leading tours, helping behind the scenes, or promoting the Museum, volunteers help bring art to life in our community.

Adults

Classroom Art
Aides assist children with hands-on art activities.
Clerical Aides
Support staff with administrative and office tasks.
Collection Inventory Assistants
Help catalog and enter data for works of art.
Docents
Lead guided tours for guests and school groups.
Event Assistants
Help with setup, cleanup, and refreshments for museum events.
Marketing & Public Relations Aides
Promote membership and raise awareness of MMoA.
Visitor Services
Welcome guests, provide information, and create a positive first impression.

High School & College Students

After School Art Aides
Year-long opportunities assisting younger children with art activities.
Summer Art Camp Counselors
Support weekly Art Blast camps as a camp assistant.
Volunteer Credit Hours
Earn hours for school organizations and service clubs!

Museum membership is a requirement for all volunteers. After your first year, you can earn a free Family Membership when you earn 96 service hours a year.
