Intern Introduction: Mary Franklin

Posted on: August 15th, 2018

Hello Internet! I can’t tell you how stoked I am to be introducing myself as the newest PR and Marketing intern for the Mobile Museum of Art. I’m hoping I will embody the museum’s motto in engagement and enrichment through the arts. I’m afraid I am a little awkward on paper, but I will do my best to represent myself below:

Hometown: Mobile, AL (I stay for the beach)

University Life: University of South Alabama, Senior | Major in Spanish and and Visual Communications

Ideal Saturday: an early morning bike ride, followed by yoga and consuming copious amounts of breakfast food. Finish my day with a trip to the dog park or a contemporary museum, and I am content. Oh, and more food.

Amazing Skill: I can moonwalk. Additionally, I can moonwalk and play the harmonica simultaneously; although, I don’t recommend it.

Favorite place: Valencia, Spain. Lots! Of! Bread!

Inspirational artworks: The White Man, Lyonel Feininger and Linguistic Spill in the Boiler Hall, Gary Hill

Internship Purpose: I want to familiarize myself with Adobe programs while being surrounded by a community of innovators and creators. Museums have always been a refuge for me, thanks to their respect for arts and individuality.
