A central feature of the Museum School’s research and training function is its provision of on-site practical job training and experience in museum work. As the only accredited art museum in south Alabama, Mobile Museum of Art uniquely offers university and college students an opportunity to integrate their classroom studies and theory with practical, hands-on museum work.

Practicums and Internships require professional staff supervision and training, and are thus competitive. They typically entail 3-4 months (semester) on-site work. Frequent areas for practicums include studio/fine arts, art history, museum studies, design or architecture. Other, non-art disciplines will be considered on an individual basis.
