One way Mobile Museum of Art brings people together and inspires creativity is by hosting a variety of outreach programs with goals to increase access, appreciation and empathy through the arts.

Partnership Opportunities
See the impact we are making through community programs and be a pART of the change through our partnerships
- Teaching Artists Project
- This project began in 2016 as a collaborative effort between our arts organizations to create a database of teaching artists who would become known as “floating faculty”.
- ACAC, Mobile Arts Council, and Mobile Museum of Art hire artists as independent contractors to teach classes and workshops in every discipline. Connect with paid teaching opportunities based on your practice.
- Bridging Generations Through Art
- Through this partnership with the Mobile Museum of Art, sponsored by The Art Bridges Foundation, youth from select MPRD Community Center after-school programs are invited to tour the Mobile Museum of Art, followed by a hands-on art activity with a professional art educator.
- This free program is open to students in grades K–8. Participants will be transported from their community center to the museum.
- This free program is open to students and their families, parents and grandparents are encouraged to attend. Register with your local community center for monthly tours and art activities at Mobile Museum of Art.
- In partnership with Mobile City Parks and Recreation Senior & Community Centers and DWELL at MMoA.
- Salvation Army
- In partnership with Substance Abuse Program at 1009 Dauphin Street.
- Our free youth community after-school programs provide freedom for children to experience music and art education in supportive no-cost or low-cost environments.
- The classes and programs vary by location, but we offer everything from choir, band, and dancing to drawing, writing, and acting.
- Mobile Parks & Recreation
- The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department offers a free STREAM program (Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) for children and students in grades K-8 (typically ages 5 to 13)
- Hands-on, interactive Saturday (or special activation) events designed to encourage curiosity and creativity through real-world applications
- Completely free, though advance pre-registration is required via MPRD RecDesk as spots fill up quickly (waitlists are often available when full)
